Did you know that there are 900 registered companies with the Pakistan Software Export Board of which 70 are ISO certified, 1 CM level 5 certified and one CMM level 4 certified company. There are 55 foreign IT and Telecom companies working in Pakistan . The percentage growth in exports of the industry fair at 45% with an annual software industry turn over of 70-80 million dollars.Pakistan has 5,500 IT graduates each year, and 45 universities offer IT and CS programs. There are between 6000 to 8000 IT professionals working in the area of software for Export and about 75,000 IT professionals presently employed across the country. The total IT spending in the last fiscal year was about 300 million dollars; 600,000 square feet of space utilized in the various software technology parks, $2000 per month spent on an E-1 connection and 700,000 units of PCs sold annually across the country! Who says the IT industry in Pakistan is small??
