Waqar Younis is set to be the new coach of Pakistan after reports emerged that he had accepted a Pakistan Cricket Board offer to take up the position.Waqar played 87 Tests and 262 one-day internationals between 1989 and 2003.
He replaces Intikhab Alam, who was released early from a two-year contract.
Since 1995, the board has changed its coach 14 times with former England player Bob Woolmer enjoying the longest stint from 2004-07 until his sudden death during the last World Cup in the West Indies.
Now the debate is on that "Waqar would be a great coach, but it will be hard for him to fight against the politics in Pakistan cricket"
