IT Update 6

Pakistan has a handful of local brands that are presently being marketed and sold. These companies bring components into the country, assemble the machines and then sell them. The Pakistan Government levies a 5% tax on importing complete machines to encourage companies to set up assembling units and promote local brands. Therefore PC sales, local and international, are over 700,000 units per year, generating revenues of US $ 280 million annually.
